01 / Origin
The game
behind the tool.
I want to build games in Unreal with my coding agent. Two Unreal MCP servers demonstrated parts of that future, but each had different gaps—and I did not want another large MCP surface permanently loaded into context.
So I started building the interface I wanted: a self-contained AXI CLI with a native plugin where Unreal requires one, broad enough to grow toward complete game development, and explicit enough for an agent to use safely.
The ambition is larger than automating a handful of editor buttons. It is to make the useful parts of Unreal legible and operable through a coherent agent experience.
02 / Surface
Editor to
artifact.
The current interface spans project discovery, native editor operations, gameplay observation, and build pipelines.
- World authoring. Inspect levels, actors, components, assets, Blueprints, widgets, AI behavior, and animation state.
- Typed mutation. Create and change content through explicit capabilities with revision checks, receipts, and persistence rules.
- Runtime feedback. Start play sessions, send input, observe state, capture screenshots, and stop cleanly.
- Project pipelines. Build, test, cook, package, inspect operations, and search bounded logs from one interface.
- Native bridge. A bundled Unreal plugin handles editor-only work through an authenticated local connection.
03 / Safety
Proof, not
optimism.
Game projects are stateful, expensive to rebuild, and easy to damage with an ambiguous retry. The CLI treats safe execution and truthful evidence as core behavior.
- Mutations use expected revisions and report whether project state actually changed.
- Receipts bind operations to the project, editor, target, request, and resulting state.
- Ambiguous outcomes fail closed instead of pretending a retry is harmless.
- Certification exercises real Unreal automation, restart and readback behavior, build output, and runtime observation.
Current project state
Support claims are intentionally limited to the completed P1.5 certification boundary. P1.6 remains in progress.
