02 / Behind the alias

Careful work.
Strange ideas.

Magi Metal is my workshop. I’m Justin Bauer—a lead software engineer working on emerging AI experiences, a meticulous toolmaker, a husband, and a full-time caregiver.

Most of what I build starts with a small friction I can’t stop thinking about. I like owning the details, testing unconventional approaches, and using AI as a tool to expand what one person can understand and make.

  1. Design for the work, not the demo
  2. Spend context with intent
  3. Keep the strange part

03 / Outside the forge

Off the clock.
Still curious.

A partial inventory

01 / Games

One more
for the library.

Playing, collecting, and exploring a Steam library that has grown past 1,300 games.

02 / Music

Clean notes.
Unclean vocals.

Singing and self-teaching vocal techniques—including screams, growls, and everything between.

03 / Fantasy

Other worlds.
Better questions.

Fantasy, games, and imagined worlds are a constant source of creative fuel.

04 / Collecting

Cards, objects,
tiny histories.

Trading card games and the satisfying rabbit holes that come with collecting things.

05 / Elsewhere

Streams on.
Bags packed.

Watching Twitch, traveling when possible, and finding new places to be curious.

04 / Open channels

Find me elsewhere.
